Pietro Gradi

The Master’s Degree in MES, particularly the Energy Technologies curriculum, was crucial for my professional development. The international setting was a major asset: studying in English refined my fluency and professional confidence. I also valued the small class sizes, which allowed for direct mentorship from professors, while thehands-on projects effectively bridged the gap between theory and industrial reality. The program taught me to view sustainability as a fundamental engineering requirement, not just an abstract concept. This mindset proved essential during my six-month R&D internship at Baker Hughes Nuovo Pignone, where I solidified my interest in turbomachinery through a thesis on robust design. Currently, at the ICAD Consortium, I apply this background to my research on centrifugal compressors, focusing on performance optimization and energy reduction.
